Pull Tab Theft of Over $12,500

A local Spokane business suffered an internal theft of over $12,500 in stolen pull-tabs, redeemed with the employee’s friends and family’s names on the winning tickets.  Washington State Gambling Commission agents investigated the theft after the business’s pull tab accounting service identified large shortages from several pull tab games.

The businesses’ employee, Ashley Roberts, was discovered to have opened numerous pull tabs without paying for them in an attempt to locate winning tickets.  WSGC Special Agents conducted several interviews and determined the winner’s names were used fraudulently.

Roberts was charged with first degree theft by the Spokane Prosecutor’s Office and was arraigned on April 2, 2025.
