WSGC Special Agents Assist Homeland Security in Large Takedown Operation

SEATTLE - In conjunction with Seattle Homeland Security, Washington State Gambling Commission Special Agents participated in one of the largest area takedowns of a violent drug trafficking gang, accused of distributing fentanyl in Seattle and Everett.

The year-long investigation was executed Wednesday and involved 600 officers, utilized wire-tapping resulting in 31 search warrants. Properties were searched throughout the region, from Everett to SeaTac, with the WSGC Intelligence Unit providing support by obtaining surveillance records and player tracking information from frequenting area casinos.

Homeland Security announced 12 indictments Thursday.
